The Haverford Ice Hockey Club was a project that was very close to one of our team members, who played hockey for the club for 5 years. They have 6 teams in varying age brackets, and were seeking a web presence that would engage its users and encourage players, parents, and coaches to become more involved with the organization. The club's old website was a Homestead template site that had been built by one of the club's members. While not a bad site, it was hindered by an uninituitive layout and sparse, stagnant content. We took a look at some of the competition as far as hockey club websites goes, and found that we had an opportunity to create one of the best, most professional club hockey websites on the Internet. We took inspiration from various professional hockey websites, and tried to include functionality that we believed people were looking for in a hockey website, such as quick access to game schedules, results, and player statistics.
